2025 summary and goals for 2026

2025 summary goals for 2026

Term 1

Starting off at a new school, new people and new teachers.

It took a few weeks to adjust but I soon got comfortable.

Doing athletics and swimming sports as well as learning a lot more in Westland High than I have before and improving my scores massively.

Term 2

Winter sports had started, badminton, football and netball.

Netball; After doing tryouts I was put into an amazing team and we worked really well together and got closer to people I wouldn’t have otherwise. The term felt really short and quickly led to term 3.

Term 3

Term three started, and I had made multiple friends and netball had gone really well leading to semi finals and winning the finals! Quickly enough koru games trails had rolled around and to be honest I had never heard of it. All my friends were talking about it and I was clueless. I tried out and got into badminton. After 3 amazing and fun days full of excitement and games the WHS came out with the bronze medal, the only team in the school placing.

Term 4

After koru games most of us weren’t super excited to be back at school and getting hit with end of year assessment one after the other, five to be exact. Most of the conversations were about what we were making in cooking and starting year nine next year. Picking our options and talking about class lists. Then getting introduced to the news of getting a class sleepover which is on Thursday [ tomorrow at the time of posting]

Goals for 2026

My goals are to improve my test scores as well as making new friends and improving friend relationships I already have and to have fun.

Term 3 Week 6 Creative writing

My goal is to add a cohesive structure to my writing. How do you think I did?

Childhood games

Do you remember the childhood games you used to play?

The ones that you played day after day.

Do you remember sitting on the grass making chains with flowers?

Or when you made massive block towers.

When you and your stuffed animals sat in a circle.

Somehow your bunny magically turned purple.

When you cranked your music box and the perfect ballerina span on the spot.

You did too, though not perfectly. You were dressed in polka dots.

When Imagination took the reins and you ran wild.

You know, the games you used to play when you were a child.

You don’t remember, do you?

We never thought we’d lose you.

Let me guess. You don’t have time for those “silly” games.

But you have time for scrubbing the floor somewhere. You keep telling yourself you’re “working to fame.”

All those memories have been erased, been removed, been replaced.

Because “you’re too old for that, too mature.”

Your little, pure mind has been torn.

Torn into shreds by teenage years.

Your soul is covered by anger and fears.

Buried by the broken pieces is something no one would expect.

It’s those childhood games, the memories. Younger you swore to protect…

– Your imagination

Term 3 Week 2 writing- Secret passage

My goal is [ Adding emotion to my writing]

The day started out normal, as I expected it to.

But slowly things got more peculiar.

It all started about lunch time, all of us sitting at our 100 year old dining table in our 100 year old house eating some sandwiches mum made earlier. I was perfectly happy until I heard faint footsteps above me. We live in a one story house…

I looked at  my parents wondering if they heard it too. They were completely unfazed. I wasn’t the type of girl to brush things off. I was curious.I quickly excused myself from the table and put my half eaten sandwich on the bench.

I ran out the door and did some looking.Though the house was old, we had only been here for 6 months or so. I never really got the chance to investigate, but now I do. There was one spot that was longer on the outside than inside.

I thought of where that would be inside and where it was. There was one object that had been there when we moved in. An old grandfather clock has been there since the house was built. There must have been a passage somewhere through a wall of some sort leading to the closed off attic.

While my parents were out I decided to cut a hole around the clock. After a good thirty minutes I found it. An old passageway leading to a spiral staircase, I made the climb and made it to the end of the railing. I took one more step and got pulled back, cold hands sealed my mouth, not letting me scream…

Would You Rather?

I would rather stay up all night because…

The night is only till 12 am then I could sleep from 12:01 to whatever time I want and still have sleep.

I would still have energy and I could still be productive.

If I were to go to bed early I would miss all my sport and functions.
